BP4_Web 2.0 tools

I am doing my AR project on gaming in education. The more I read about it, the larger the subject becomes. When I went to Joomla, I found a lot of podcasts and information on educational gaming as well as recreational gaming. Although this site won't satisfy my requirement for peer reviewed articles, it could be a great site to help me with my research. I can also post my own views. When I teach digital media, especially the advanced class, i can use this site with my students. Of course "Blog sites" is one of the many words that will block a site in school. Like many site, it includes a variety of views. It also includes interesting statistics and where the information originally came from. It's a site I plan on visiting as my research progresses.

  1. Perfect timing!!! I spent this last week looking at podcast options that would work with my students (preferably via phone) but there was a lot of 'junk' out there that looked good until I got the fine print. I keep coming back to my mac and the features I have right here. It doesn't allow for the mobility I am looking for but....there has to be a phone in podcasting tool out there that doesn't cost me $$$ and is reliable. And one that I can access at school as well. So I am off to check out your site which is one I hadn't found.

I am so not a gamer and have some pretty built in resistance to the whole concept so I am excited to see where your research takes you. I will tell you that if you can convince me and show me some tools that will work...you can do anything.

  2. This is a topic that I am extremely interested in. I don't have the confidence to make it my AR project. I will be very excited to see how it turns out. I am using edmodo.com to work my students using online communication and collaboration. It is working out well so far. I would love to "borrow" any ideas you come up with to encourage and motivate my students more.

  3. I know how frustrating it can be to find a useful site and be unable to use it due to school filters. I know my district does have a way for me to submit a request for review of and access to some sites, however, it is a very long process. I'm looking forward to seeing how you are able to utilize gaming in your classroom.
